The man who stopped the revolution

The Chinese have never distanced themselves from Mao's policies and have never denied his attitudes and decisions. Interestingly, the guide spoke proudly about this old man, saying that he defended the "Tree of Love" and opposed the authorities during the Cultural Revolution. An unusual tree grew on the temple grounds near Lijiang, its branches and branches intertwining with each other. The authorities decided to cut down the tree in the 1960s, as every faith and cult was known to be dangerous to the authorities. This man did not agree to this and thanks to him the tree survives to this day. It's a pity that there wasn't a whole army of such people, maybe more temples, monuments, books would have been preserved...
