Sleeping in the Chinese subway

Sleeping in the Chinese subway - photos from China

© Bartłomiej Magierowski

It wasn't really that early, it was around 7am. I met two couples on the subway, very sleepy and tired. Let me make it clear that the photo is not intended to mock anyone. I once added a photo of sleeping passengers on a train and there was some controversy. I guess it's about the night lifestyle, in Chinese metropolises people go to bed very late even during the week. Nightlife starts around 6-7 p.m., after work. Then there are restaurants, then massage parlors, clubs, bars, visits, playing mahjong, cards, or night activities in the park - badminton, dancing, exercises. Bedtime is usually around 1-2 am. The second issue is hard work, overtime and simply no time to get a good night's sleep.
