Every major and minor city in China falls into this contrast: the old city and the new city. In my opinion, the worst thing is that what is new and modern wins. This is how charming old tenement houses in cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are disappearing. Skyscrapers, office buildings, hotels and shopping centers are replacing this old version of the city. Of course, this often improves the living conditions of residents, although not always. It also happens that old tenement houses are undergoing renovation. More often, however, they are simply demolished. I wonder how long these small buildings in Shenzhen, Huanggang will survive. As you can see, they are already surrounded by modernity.
