Hong Kong has had such signs for tourists in English for decades. Interestingly, other cities are following suit - in Guangzhou and Shanghai there are more and more names in the English version, and sometimes simply in the pinyin version. This is extremely helpful for people who cannot read Chinese characters, and there are more and more such tourists every year. Moving around cities and visiting the most important attractions has become easier.
